Two new buildings proposed at edge of Assembly Row in Somerville
KEMS Corporation proposes to construct Assembly’s Edge, a mixed-use development located adjacent to Somerville’s Assembly Row featuring two buildings containing apartments, hotel rooms and retail space. One 13-story building would contain 180 hotel rooms, and a second 21-story building would contain 215 apartment residences ranging from one to three bedrooms. On Assembly’s Edge’s ground floor would be 9,515 square feet of retail and/or restaurant space, in addition to a new urban park. Assembly’s Edge would be located minutes from the Assembly MBTA Orange Line station as well as Interstate 93, a short commute to Downtown Boston. KEMS has filed plans for Assembly’s Edge with the City of Somerville, who is now reviewing the project.
